Housemarque has officially announced Saros, the successor to its acclaimed 2022 roguelite shooter, Returnal. This new title is set to release in 2026 exclusively for PlayStation 5, with enhancements for the upcoming PS5 Pro.
Revealed during the recent PlayStation State of Play event, Saros features a protagonist named Arjun Devraj, a Solatri enforcer navigating a perilous and ever-changing planet. The game’s narrative includes elements such as a haunting eclipse and encounters with formidable beings.
Creative director Gregory Louden described Saros as the „ultimate evolution“ of Housemarque’s gameplay-first philosophy. While it retains the third-person action style of Returnal, the game introduces significant gameplay changes. Players will experience a world that transforms upon death, alongside the ability to permanently upgrade their weapons and suits.
Further details, including an extended gameplay reveal, are anticipated later this year. For additional information on the PlayStation State of Play announcements, visit the source.
