Compact NAS Device Offers Up to 32TB SSD Storage in a Palm-Sized Design

The X86-P6 Pocket is a compact network-attached storage (NAS) device designed for users seeking substantial storage in a small footprint. Measuring just 100 x 100 x 58.5mm, it supports up to four M.2 2280 SSDs, enabling a maximum storage capacity of 32TB.

Powered by either an Intel N150 or Core 3 N355 processor, the NAS can accommodate up to 32GB of DDR5-4800 memory through a single SODIMM slot. The device includes two 2.5 GbE LAN ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, and two HDMI 2.0 outputs for connectivity.

Performance varies based on the number of SSDs used. Utilizing all four slots limits speeds to PCIe 3.0 x1 per drive, while a single SSD can achieve PCIe 3.0 x4 speeds. An M.2 B-Key slot is available for WiFi 6 or WiFi 7 modules, enhancing wireless connectivity options.

To manage heat, the NAS features an aluminum radiator and an active cooling system, with an option to install an additional fan. The barebones model with the Intel N150 processor is priced around $200, while the Core 3 N355 version retails for approximately $315. Users can opt for pre-configured models or choose to install their own storage and memory.
