Oppo Find N5: A Thin Foldable Smartphone with Advanced Features

The Oppo Find N5 has been unveiled as a new addition to the foldable smartphone market, boasting a sleek design and powerful specifications. At just 8.92mm thick when unfolded, it claims to be the world’s thinnest foldable device.

Featuring a 6.62-inch outer display and an 8.12-inch inner screen, the Find N5 incorporates a titanium hinge, enhancing durability. Weighing only 229 grams, it remains lightweight compared to its competitors, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Under the hood, the Find N5 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and houses a substantial 5,600mAh battery. This combination allows for impressive battery life, reportedly lasting up to two days on a single charge. The device supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, although it lacks Qi2 compatibility.

Oppo has made significant advancements in durability with the Find N5. The hinge is now made from a titanium alloy, and the screens feature enhanced protection against drops and scratches. The device boasts an IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 water resistance rating, making it the first foldable to offer such extensive protection.

Camera capabilities have also seen improvements, with a new 50MP periscope telephoto lens allowing for 3X optical zoom and a lossless 6X zoom option. The Find N5’s camera system is complemented by AI features for enhanced photography.

Multitasking features have been enhanced with a system called Boundless View, allowing users to manage multiple apps in a more efficient manner. Additionally, the device offers a Remote Mac Control feature, enabling users to interact with their Mac directly from the Find N5.

The Find N5 is set to launch globally, with initial pricing announced at 2,499 Singapore Dollars, approximately $1,900 in the US. Availability in the US market remains uncertain, as Oppo has not confirmed a release date.
