Rockstar Games is set to enhance the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V on March 4, introducing previously console-exclusive online content along with significant technical improvements for the single-player experience.
New Online Content
PC players will gain access to a variety of new features in Grand Theft Auto Online, including:
- New vehicles and upgrades at Hao’s Special Works (HSW) to enhance automotive performance.
- Premium Test Rides, HSW Races, and HSW Time Trials for skill testing.
- The Wildlife Photography Challenge, encouraging players to capture images of Ambient Animals for rewards.
- GTA+ Membership benefits, offering exclusive perks.
- The Career Progress feature to track criminal activities across updates.
- A refreshed Landing Page for streamlined access to gameplay.
- A GTA$4,000,000 windfall for new players to kickstart their careers.
Technical Enhancements
The update will also introduce numerous improvements to the game:
- Ray tracing features like ambient occlusion and global illumination.
- Support for AMD FSR1 and FSR3, along with NVIDIA DLSS 3.
- Faster loading times via SSD and DirectStorage.
- Enhanced support for higher resolutions and framerates.
- DualSense controller support with adaptive triggers.
- Improved audio fidelity with Dolby Atmos.
Version Separation
Players will have the option to continue using the original version of Grand Theft Auto Online if their PCs cannot support the new visual upgrades. However, this will create a split in the player base, as those on the original version will not be able to play with users on the upgraded version.
