Modiphius Entertainment has announced the upcoming launch of Hardwar, a tactical sci-fi miniatures game set in the early 22nd century. The game will debut at this year’s GAMA Expo and features 6mm scale miniatures.
Hardwar promises fast-paced gameplay within a hard sci-fi environment. Players can engage in battles using armored vehicles, mechs, aircraft, and experimental weaponry. The game allows participants to assume various roles, including leaders of private security firms, corporate commanders, revolutionary group organizers, or marshals protecting farmsteads.
Factions will be available, with options for players to utilize pre-built units or design custom forces through a user-friendly construction system. The gameplay integrates traditional armored warfare with futuristic elements such as cybernetics, sentient combat swarms, and electronic countermeasures (ECM).
Originally developed by Strato Minis Studio in Poland, Hardwar was acquired by Modiphius Entertainment in June 2024. Following the acquisition, the game underwent updates and redesigns for a global audience. The new edition includes a revised hardcover rulebook in a digest-size format, featuring previously exclusive content.
The Kickstarter campaign for Hardwar is set to launch this summer, offering the core rulebook, two initial factions—the Syndicate Taskforce and Consortium Security Squadron—and various expansions. A preview of the game will be showcased at AdeptiCon next month.
