Pup Cup, a new game from Ledbetter Games, has launched on the Playdate Catalog, drawing inspiration from the popular game Root Bear. This latest addition introduces a unique gameplay style, referred to as a „Root-like score-chaser.“
In Pup Cup, players have 60 seconds to serve sweet treats to dogs at a whipped cream stand. The objective is to earn as many tail wags as possible. Players must carefully fill each pup cup to the height indicated by the „Good Boy Zone“ to satisfy the furry customers. Overfilling leads to a messy splat of whipped cream, while underfilling results in disappointed pups.
Gameplay Features
The game includes a mode called Bork Mode, where players can pet dogs and add toppings to their orders to earn extra time. This mode requires players to pay attention to a flashing D-pad icon that indicates which button to press, adding a layer of coordination to the gameplay.
Pup Cup offers a more relaxed gaming experience compared to Root Bear, with a focus on fun and cuteness. Players will encounter various dogs, some dressed in outfits, and enjoy their joyful animations as they wait for their treats. The game also features familiar characters like a knife-wielding goose and a robotic dog.
Availability
Pup Cup is available for $3 on the Playdate Catalog. The developers have also engaged in real-life activities, serving pup cups to dogs during the Puppy Bowl, further enhancing the game’s wholesome appeal.
