Sigma Unveils Innovative Mirrorless Camera with Built-in Storage

Sigma has introduced the BF, a new 24.6-megapixel full-frame mirrorless camera that features a built-in 230GB SSD, eliminating the need for traditional memory card slots.

Design and Features

The BF’s design reflects a minimalist aesthetic, crafted from a single block of aluminum. It showcases flat, angular edges, making it distinct yet potentially uncomfortable for prolonged use. The back of the camera includes a thumb rest, a high-resolution display, and a pill-shaped status monitor to indicate settings. Navigation is facilitated through a dial, alongside essential buttons for power and playback.

Performance Capabilities

Equipped with a 35mm full-frame sensor, the Sigma BF can capture 6K video and supports HEVC encoding, allowing recording at up to 120 frames per second. The built-in SSD can store:

  • Over 14,000 JPEG files
  • Approximately 4,300 uncompressed RAW images
  • Up to 2.5 hours of high-quality video

Compatibility and Color Modes

The BF is compatible with L-mount lenses and includes various color modes to enhance photography. Users can choose from standard and rich settings, along with specific options such as powder blue, forest green, and sunset red.

Pricing and Availability

The Sigma BF will be available in April 2025, priced at $1,999 for the body only. Buyers can select from black or silver finishes.
