Nvidia Reports Record Earnings Amid DeepSeek Controversy

Nvidia has reported a record-breaking revenue of $39.3 billion for the last quarter, surpassing both its own projections and Wall Street estimates. The company anticipates further growth, projecting revenue of approximately $43 billion for the next quarter.

Despite recent speculation regarding the impact of DeepSeek’s R1 model on chip demand, Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang remains optimistic. He emphasized that reasoning models, like R1, require significantly more computational resources, which is beneficial for Nvidia’s business.

In 2024, Nvidia’s data center sales nearly doubled, reaching $115 billion, and increased by 16% from the previous quarter. The company has also introduced its latest Blackwell chip, designed specifically for reasoning tasks, and is experiencing extraordinary demand for it.

The market for AI chips continues to expand, with major tech companies such as Meta, Google, and Amazon announcing substantial investments in AI infrastructure, collectively committing hundreds of billions for future projects.
