In Monster Hunter Wilds, players need to gather various resources to upgrade their gear. Iron is a crucial material for forging better weapons and armor at the blacksmith. Unlike monster parts, players must actively seek out iron deposits to mine.
Where to Find Iron
Iron can be found in the starting area known as Windward Plains and also in the Scarlet Forest. Look for large blue geodes on the ground, which indicate iron deposits. On the map, these appear as blue icons.
To efficiently locate iron deposits:
- Open the map and access the Filter Icons menu.
- Disable all icons except for Mining Outcrop icons.
- Find an iron deposit, set a waypoint, and use your Seikret to navigate there.
Mining iron doesn’t require a pickaxe or any special tools. Simply approach the outcrop and press the interact button to start mining. Each deposit can yield up to three iron pieces, so continue interacting until it’s fully depleted.
