Lenovo has introduced a range of modular accessories for its ThinkBook 16P Gen 6 laptop at the Mobile World Congress. This new line-up, featuring the magnetic Magic Bay connector, includes four distinct proof-of-concept add-ons.
Magic Bay Add-ons
The announced concepts are:
- Magic Bay 2nd Display Concept: An 8-inch vertical screen designed for viewing feeds and communications.
- Magic Bay Dual Screen Concept: A pair of 13.3-inch 2.8K displays aimed at creating a triple-monitor setup.
- Magic Bay “codename Tiko” Concept: A small, circular display serving as an emoji-based AI companion.
- Magic Bay “codename Tiko Pro” Concept: A slim horizontal screen for widgets and integration with Lenovo’s AI Now.
Key Features
The 2nd Display offers a 1920 x 1200 resolution at 60Hz, making it suitable for applications like Slack and Microsoft Teams. The Dual Screen Concept enhances the ThinkBook into a triple-monitor system, featuring two 13.3-inch displays with a resolution of 2880 x 1920 and a refresh rate of 120Hz, weighing approximately 2.62 pounds.
The Tiko concepts introduce a playful element. The Tiko Pro is intended for widget display, while the Tiko emoji companion aims to provide emotional interaction during work hours. It features a unique design, resembling a cat with a tail, and reacts to user gestures.
Market Potential
These innovative concepts target both productivity-focused users and those seeking a lighter, more engaging experience with their devices. Lenovo has yet to confirm which, if any, of these concepts will reach the market.
