Cadillac has announced the upcoming electric Escalade IQL, set to become the longest SUV in production when it launches in mid-2025. This new model extends the length of the existing Escalade IQ, providing more space for cargo and passengers.
Specifications and Features
The Escalade IQL measures 228.5 inches in overall length, surpassing the gas-powered ESV by an inch and a half. This model is also about 4.2 inches longer than the standard IQ. Compared to other three-row electric vehicles, the IQL outstrips the GMC Hummer EV SUV, Rivian R1S, Kia EV9, and Volkswagen ID Buzz in length.
Interior Space Enhancements
Cadillac has designed the IQL with a boxier rear end, allowing for increased cargo capacity. It offers 4 inches of additional legroom for third-row passengers, now measuring 36.7 inches, along with an extra inch of headroom. Cargo space behind the third row totals 24.2 cu.ft., and with the third row folded, it expands to 75.4 cu.ft..
Power and Performance
The IQL is equipped with a 205kWh battery pack, maintaining the same advertised range of 460 miles as the standard IQ. It can achieve up to 116 miles of range with just a 10-minute charge using 350kW DC fast chargers.
Pricing and Production
The starting price for the Escalade IQL is $132,695, which includes destination charges. Production will take place at GM’s Factory Zero plant in Detroit, beginning in mid-2025.
