Namco is gearing up for a significant celebration as Pac-Man approaches his 45th anniversary this May. The company has outlined a series of events and collaborations aimed at honoring the iconic character and engaging fans.
To kick off the festivities, Bandai Namco released a video chronicling Pac-Man’s evolution since his 1980 debut. This includes highlights from the original game, its Atari 2600 version, and various sequels and spin-offs, such as Pac-Man World 2. A sneak peek of the upcoming title Shadow Labyrinth, a 2D action game, is also featured in the video.
In addition to Shadow Labyrinth, Bandai Namco is collaborating with Supersocial to develop Pac-Man Simulator on Roblox, providing players with fresh adventures related to the anniversary.
Several live events will take place, starting with the Pac-Man Live Experience at Manchester’s Arcade Arena on March 22. This attraction allows visitors to immerse themselves in life-sized versions of Pac-Man’s classic maze.
From April 30 to June 4, the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle will host a special Pac-Man display, culminating in a themed event on May 10. Additionally, The Great Park Gallery in Irvine, California, will present a retrospective exhibition from May 18 to September 28.
Merchandise is also part of the celebration. Club America will release limited edition Pac-Man-branded soccer jerseys. New toys, apparel, and even a Pac-Man cooking book from Insight Editions are expected later in 2025.
