Sony has launched the first of five planned expansions for the popular platformer Astro Bot, available today. This update introduces a new level named Tick-Tock Shock along with five additional levels that will roll out weekly.
The upcoming levels include Thrust or Bust, Cock-A-Doodle-Doom, Hard to Bear, and Armored Hardcore, each set to release every Thursday at 6am Pacific / 9am Eastern / 2pm UK time.
In addition to new levels, a PlayStation 5 Pro patch enhances gameplay with improved resolution and a smooth 60 frames per second performance. Each level features a new Special Bot for players to rescue, adding to the game’s replayability with a Time Attack mode and online rankings.
This expansion marks the third wave of downloadable content for Astro Bot, which previously included a Christmas-themed level. Players have anticipated these updates, especially since several unreleased bots were hinted at in the game’s credits, suggesting potential collaborations with franchises like Rayman and Doom.
Astro Bot has been well-received, selling 1.5 million units within its first two months and earning a 9/10 rating from IGN. The game continues to attract a dedicated fan base eager for new content.
