Bungie Embraces Destiny 2 Bug, Enhances Gameplay Experience

Destiny 2 players have encountered a bug from the recent Heresy update that allows certain exotic glaive weapons and older swords to be used across different classes. The weapons in question include the Edge of Intent, Edge of Concurrence, and Edge of Action, which were designed to be class-specific.

Initially, Bungie aimed to fix this issue, as it blurred the lines between the game’s distinct class archetypes: Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks. However, after observing player enjoyment, the developer has opted not to address the bug. Bungie stated that this decision reflects a shift towards prioritizing fun over strict adherence to class rules.

The bug has opened up new opportunities for players to create unique class builds and engage in unexpected gameplay. Bungie noted that while the use of these weapons across classes might lead to unusual animations, it also provides creative avenues for players to express themselves through videos and art.

Despite the decision to keep the bug, Bungie will monitor its impact on game balance. The developer reassured players that the weapons should still feel most powerful when used by their original classes. Additionally, Bungie hinted at the possibility of future animations inspired by the unique playstyles emerging from this bug.
