Diablo 4’s next major expansion, following the upcoming Vessel of Hatred, is now set for release in 2026. This announcement came from Rod Fergusson, the general manager of Diablo, during the DICE Summit held in Las Vegas.
Fergusson confirmed that players should not expect a new expansion in 2025, despite earlier plans for annual releases. The delay stems from a shift in the timeline for Vessel of Hatred, which launched 18 months after the game’s original release instead of the planned 12 months. This change required the development team to reallocate resources, impacting the schedule for future content.
In 2025, a content roadmap for Diablo 4 will be shared, detailing seasonal updates and other plans for the year. However, the second expansion will not be included in that roadmap.
Recently, Diablo 4 introduced its Season of Witchcraft, which features new powers, quests, and gameplay elements. The game has received positive reviews, with many praising its design and engaging gameplay.
