DJI Launches Osmo Mobile 7P Gimbal with Enhanced Tracking Features

DJI has introduced the Osmo Mobile 7P gimbal, enhancing smartphone videography with advanced tracking capabilities. This new model supports native app tracking for both Android and iOS devices, utilizing a feature known as the Multifunctional Module.

The Osmo Mobile 7P is designed to compete with Insta360’s Flow 2 Pro, which previously offered limited tracking capabilities. Unlike its predecessor, the Osmo Mobile 7, the 7P includes the Multifunctional Module, which can be purchased separately for the standard model.

Key features of the Osmo Mobile 7P include:

  • A built-in extension rod
  • Integrated tripod
  • Gesture control for starting and stopping recordings
  • Automatic subject tracking across various camera apps

With the Multifunctional Module attached, users can easily track subjects by holding up their palm to the camera. This feature works seamlessly across multiple applications, including native camera apps and video conferencing platforms.

Both models, the Osmo Mobile 7 and 7P, offer a 10-hour battery life and can function as a power bank to charge smartphones. The DJI Mimo app adds further functionality, allowing for panoramic shooting, dynamic zoom, and multi-subject tracking.

Pricing for the Osmo Mobile 7 starts at $89, while the 7P is available for $149. Orders have begun, with shipping already in progress. The availability of the OM 7 Series Tracking Kit for separate purchase remains unannounced.
