DJI has launched the DJI Dock 3, a vehicle-mounted drone docking station designed for continuous remote operations in challenging environments. This drone-in-a-box solution supports the DJI Matrice 4D and 4TD drones, facilitating autonomous flights and real-time monitoring.

The DJI Dock 3 boasts an IP56 rating, providing dust and water resistance. It operates effectively in temperatures ranging from -30°C to 50°C. Unlike its predecessor, the Dock 2, which is limited to fixed installations, the Dock 3 allows for deployment on moving vehicles, enhancing operational flexibility.
Dual-Drone Capability
This new system can accommodate two drones on a single vehicle, enabling uninterrupted dual-drone rotations. The dock features advanced calibration methods for improved accuracy during operations. For fixed installations, the D-RTK 3 Relay Fixed Version enhances video transmission and satellite signal stability.

The Matrice 4D and 4TD drones come equipped with high-performance imaging capabilities. The Matrice 4D features a 24mm wide camera with a 4/3 CMOS sensor and a 20MP resolution, while the Matrice 4TD is optimized for emergency response and public safety missions, including an infrared thermal camera.
Operational Enhancements
Equipped with the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise controller, the Dock 3 supports standalone drone operations and can extend operational ranges through airborne relay capabilities. It integrates with FlightHub 2 for automated flight routes and includes features for environmental monitoring and disaster response.
Additional Accessories
Accessories for the Dock 3 include an obstacle-sensing module with LiDAR, a spotlight with 100-meter illumination, and a real-time speaker. The system also supports third-party payloads through DJI’s E-Port and PSDK interface.
Data Security Measures
The DJI Dock 3 ensures data security with AES-256 encryption and opt-in sharing features. Users in the US cannot sync flight logs, and data deletion is available upon request. The Flight Termination System (FTS) allows for manual or automatic drone shutdown for compliance.
