Steamforged Games has announced the retail release of Elden Ring: The Board Game, inspired by FromSoftware’s acclaimed video game. Following a successful 2022 Kickstarter campaign that raised over £4.7 million from more than 14,000 backers, the game will be available in stores on March 31st, 2025.
The board game features three sets: Realm of the Grafted King, Weeping Peninsula, and Stormveil Castle. Each set can be played as a standalone campaign or combined for interconnected adventures. Pre-orders for these sets are now open, allowing fans to secure their copies ahead of the release.
Designed for 1-4 players, the game immerses participants in the dark world of the Lands Between. Players assume the role of the Tarnished, exploring iconic locations, interacting with familiar characters, and engaging in tactical combat against formidable enemies.
Each set offers a unique narrative, enabling players to craft their own stories within the game’s rich lore. Realm of the Grafted King provides the most extensive campaign, with over 50 hours of gameplay, while Weeping Peninsula and Stormveil Castle each offer more than 20 hours of replayable content.
The gameplay includes a card-driven combat system paired with a grid-based mechanic, requiring strategic collaboration to overcome various challenges. Players will face enemies ranging from Godrick Soldiers to the formidable Grafted King.
Steamforged Games is recognized for its high-quality miniatures, and this board game continues that tradition with intricately detailed figures representing both heroes and monstrous bosses from the game.
Additionally, exclusive Mega Boss expansions, featuring Flying Dragon Agheel and Erdtree Avatar, will introduce new bosses, enemies, and equipment, along with a mounted combat mechanic. Orders including these expansions will ship separately starting April 24th, 2025.
