Support for the iOS version of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered has officially ended, following changes to its in-app purchase model. This decision by Square Enix affects only the iOS platform, leaving the Android, PS4, and Switch versions operational.
Players encountered issues accessing paid content on iOS starting January 24, 2025. Both free and paid versions of the game were impacted, prompting an investigation by Square Enix. The company discovered that the changes to the in-app purchase model were the root cause of the problem.
Despite attempts to resolve the issue, Square Enix determined that a complete fix was unfeasible while implementing the new model. Consequently, the company decided to cease all support for the iOS version.
For players who made in-app purchases from January 2024 onwards, Square Enix is offering refunds for specific eligible content. This includes:
- Full Version of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered
- Moogle Arms
- Relic Arms
- Sapphire Earring
- Magic Wallet
- Special Arms Set
- Sherlotta’s Crystal
- Yuri’s Crystal
- Layle’s Crystal
- Leo’s Crystal
- Mira’s Crystal
- Bel Dat’s Crystal
- Chelinka’s Crystal
- Chime’s Crystal
- Memory Crystal Pack
While there’s no explicit deadline for refund requests, players are advised to contact Square Enix’s support center with any inquiries by August 31, 2025.
This discontinuation follows a trend, as other mobile titles in the Final Fantasy franchise, including Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia, have also seen their support cut in recent years.
