Hori Launches Wireless Fightpad for PS5 and PC on April 14

The Hori Wireless Fighting Commander Octa Pro is set to release on April 14, 2025, and is now available for preorder at a price of $100. This officially licensed controller is designed for both the PS5 and PC, catering to gamers looking for an alternative to traditional fight sticks.

Hori’s previous wired model, the Commander Octa, gained popularity among fighting game enthusiasts. The new Octa Pro enhances this experience by offering wireless functionality and additional features. It includes six face buttons that utilize microswitches for improved accuracy and durability, alongside four tactile shoulder buttons and two remappable back buttons.

The controller features an 8-gate analog stick optimized for fighting games, making diagonal inputs easier. Users will find three interchangeable D-pad designs included in the package, along with a low-profile analog slide pad for menu navigation.

Battery life is approximately 10 hours per charge, and the controller comes with a USB-C cable for both charging and wired play. A cable lock feature helps prevent disconnections during intense gaming sessions.

While compatible with PS4, the Octa Pro operates in wired mode on that console. For those seeking a more budget-friendly option, Hori also offers the wired Fighting Commander Octa for $59, which retains essential features but lacks the advanced options of the Pro model.

Other notable fightpads and sticks available include:

  • PDP Victrix Pro BFG Wireless Controller – $175
  • Hori Fighting Stick Alpha – $172
  • Hori Fighting Stick Mini – $52
  • Razer Kitsune All-Button Arcade Controller – $294
