Konami Unveils Suikoden 2 Anime and New Mobile Game

Konami has announced two major developments for the Suikoden franchise: a new anime series based on Suikoden 2 and a mobile game titled Suikoden Star Leap. This news comes during a live stream dedicated to the classic RPG series, which hasn’t seen a new entry in over a decade.

The anime, simply titled Suikoden: The Anime, will adapt the events of Suikoden 2. Although details on its accessibility outside Japan remain unclear, the announcement marks the first foray into animation for Konami.

In addition to the anime, a new mobile game is set to launch. Suikoden Star Leap features a visually appealing design, reminiscent of the Octopath Traveler style, and includes the traditional 108 characters from the series. However, the game will incorporate gacha mechanics and ongoing monetization, which has raised concerns among long-time fans.

For those eager to revisit the series, Konami will also release Suikoden I&II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars. A new trailer for this collection was showcased during the live event, with a release date set for March 6.
