Monster Hunter Wilds players can now enjoy an enhanced gaming experience thanks to a new mod that addresses the shortcomings of the game’s arachnophobia mode. Originally, this mode only replaced smaller spider-like creatures with slimes, leaving larger spider bosses unchanged.
The mod, named Temnophobia Mode, was created by a user known as TeaSharkLad on NexusMods. It transforms the game’s spider bosses into large slime models, providing a more comfortable experience for those with arachnophobia.
To install the mod, players need to use Fluffy Mod Manager and REFramework, both of which are easy to set up. Once these tools are in place, adding the Temnophobia mod is a simple drag-and-drop process.
While the modder acknowledged that the slime models may obscure some attack visuals, they included visual cues to assist players. Initially conceived as a joke, the mod has quickly gained traction among players seeking a solution to the inadequate arachnophobia mode.
The development of this mod highlights the community’s ability to enhance gaming experiences, especially when official features fall short. As a result, many players hope Capcom will improve their arachnophobia mode in future updates or titles.
