Capcom’s latest release, Monster Hunter Wilds, has achieved a remarkable milestone by selling over 8 million units within just three days of its launch. This accomplishment makes it the fastest-selling game in Capcom’s history.
In comparison, Monster Hunter World shipped 5 million copies in its first three days back in 2018, while Monster Hunter Rise reached 4 million in 2021. The rapid sales of Wilds highlight its strong market reception.
During its opening weekend, the game recorded over 1 million concurrent players on Steam, surpassing Cyberpunk 2077 to become the seventh most-played game ever. This surge contributed to Steam achieving over 40 million concurrent players for the first time.
As of December 31, 2024, the entire Monster Hunter franchise has exceeded 108 million units sold since its inception in 2004.
