A recent discovery by a dataminer suggests that Mortal Kombat 1 may incorporate Hara-Kiri Fatalities, potentially rebranded as Quitalities. This revelation stems from a video posted by the user InfiniteNightZ on Reddit, showcasing animations that appear to be Hara-Kiri finishers.
Hara-Kiri Fatalities, first seen in Mortal Kombat: Deception in 2004, allow players to end their own lives in a dramatic fashion after defeat. The dataminer’s findings indicate that these animations have been discovered for newly released DLC characters, including Ghostface. This suggests that the feature could be included in a future game update.
InfiniteNightZ indicated that the animations are referenced in the game’s code as Quitalities. These quick finishers activate when a player exits a multiplayer match, a mechanic that has appeared in previous installments of the franchise.
Another dataminer, Interloko, corroborated these findings by identifying additional Hara-Kiri animations. However, it remains unclear if NetherRealm Studios or publisher Warner Bros. Games will officially announce the addition of Quitalities.
Recently, Mortal Kombat 1 has seen renewed interest following the introduction of a secret character, Floyd, the pink ninja. Fans are also anticipating the arrival of the T-1000 as a guest character, alongside potential future DLC content.
