Overwatch 2 has launched Season 15, titled Honor and Glory, which introduces significant gameplay changes, including a new Perks system and the return of loot boxes.
New Gameplay Features
The highlight of this update is the addition of Perks for each hero. Players can earn experience points (XP) through damage dealt, eliminations, and healing. Upon leveling up, players can choose between two minor Perks at level two and one major Perk at level three. Minor Perks enhance existing abilities, while Major Perks can transform gameplay dynamics.
Loot Boxes Return
Loot boxes are back and can be earned through weekly challenges and the battle pass. Players can earn up to three loot boxes per week, with guaranteed Legendary and Epic items after opening a certain number of boxes. Loot boxes will contain a curated selection of cosmetic items, with a focus on providing new content to players.
Competitive Play Updates
Season 15 also resets competitive ranks and removes two maps from the rotation. Players will need to complete ten placement matches to determine their new ranks. New Galactic weapon skins can be earned through competitive points, enhancing the rewards for top players.
Future Updates
Looking ahead, Season 16 promises even more changes, including the introduction of a third-person Stadium mode and a new hero named Freya.
