The development of The Blood of Dawnwalker, a vampire game led by the director of The Witcher 3, remains unaffected by recent layoffs at NetEase. Rebel Wolves, the studio behind the game, reassured fans that production is on track.
NetEase, which has seen significant staff reductions, recently laid off developers from several of its projects. Despite these changes, Rebel Wolves co-owner Tomasz Tinc stated that their studio is financially stable and fully funded for the development of The Blood of Dawnwalker.
Set in the 14th century, the game features a storyline where players assume the role of Coen, a half-human, half-vampire hybrid. Coen has a limited timeframe of 30 days and nights to save his family from a vampire takeover in a fictional European country. The game’s mechanics will emphasize time management, as even minor actions can impact Coen’s quest.
While Rebel Wolves has not yet announced a release date, they plan to unveil gameplay details this summer. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
