Samsung has introduced its latest budget smartphones, the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A26, during the Mobile World Congress 2025. These devices promise 6 years of software updates, a significant improvement over the previous offerings, which provided four Android OS updates and five years of security updates.
Device Specifications
The Galaxy A36 is priced at $400, while the Galaxy A26 starts at $300. Both models feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 5,000 mAh battery. They also come equipped with a variety of camera options, including:
- Galaxy A26: 50-MP main camera, 8-MP ultrawide, 2-MP macro, 13-MP selfie camera
- Galaxy A36: 50-MP main camera, 8-MP ultrawide, 5-MP macro, 12-MP selfie camera
- Galaxy A56: 50-MP main camera, 12-MP ultrawide, 5-MP macro, 12-MP selfie camera
All three devices share a similar design, featuring a new camera module layout and a glossy finish. They are also IP67-rated for water resistance, allowing them to withstand submersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.
Performance and Features
Performance varies between the models. The Galaxy A26 utilizes the Exynos 1380 processor with 6 GB of RAM, while the Galaxy A36 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. The Galaxy A56 features the Exynos 1580 processor with 8 GB of RAM. Each device supports 45-watt fast charging, capable of reaching 70 percent in just 30 minutes.
Samsung has also integrated AI enhancements, such as improved photo editing capabilities and enhanced screen translation features. The Galaxy A36 and A26 will be available for order in the US on March 26 and March 28, respectively, with the Galaxy A56 expected later in the year.
