WhatsApp is enhancing user customization with the introduction of themed chat bubbles, allowing users to personalize their messaging experience. The new features include a variety of wallpapers and color options for chat bubbles, which are rolling out globally in the coming weeks.
Users can choose from 30 new wallpaper options, many of which come in preset themes that automatically select bubble and text colors. This feature aims to help users personalize their chats and easily identify important conversations.
The themes applied in chats are only visible to the individual user, and they can be extended to channels as well. Users have the option to apply a theme across all chats or selectively to specific conversations.
For those who prefer more control, WhatsApp allows manual adjustments to the colors of sent and received bubbles, text colors, and the choice of wallpaper images. Once available, users can change their chat themes by navigating to Settings > Chats > Default chat theme. To customize specific chats, users can select the chat name or the triple dot menu and choose Chat theme.
