Xiaomi 15 Ultra Launches with Advanced Photography Features

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra has officially launched, showcasing its partnership with Leica to deliver advanced photography capabilities. This smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, offering up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, making it a strong contender in the flagship market.

Equipped with a substantial 6,000 mAh battery, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra surpasses competitors such as Apple, Google, and Samsung. It supports impressive charging speeds of up to 90 watts wired and 80 watts wirelessly. Notably, the device includes a power adapter in the box, a rarity among smartphones sold in the U.S.

The 6.7-inch AMOLED display features a refresh rate of 1-120Hz and can reach brightness levels of up to 3,200 nits. Users can choose from three color options: a white model with an etched back, a black variant with a textured finish, and a special Silver Chrome edition inspired by vintage Leica cameras.

At the rear, a large circular camera module houses a robust camera system. The primary camera utilizes a 1-inch 50-megapixel Sony sensor, complemented by a 50MP ultrawide camera and two zoom lenses—a 50MP midrange shooter and a 200MP periscope lens offering 4.7x optical zoom.

Xiaomi has also introduced a Photography kit, which includes an add-on camera grip with a physical shutter button and a 67mm filter adapter. This allows users to utilize standard camera filters with the smartphone. The kit further includes accessories like a hand strap and decorative lens rings.

Despite its capabilities, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will not be officially available in the U.S. market, launching globally at a starting price of approximately €1,499. This absence leaves a gap for high-end photography smartphones in the American market.
