YouTube TV is set to remove several Paramount channels, including CBS, CBS Sports, and Nickelodeon, effective February 13. The streaming service is currently in negotiations with Paramount to continue offering these channels.
Other affected channels include BET, Comedy Central, MTV, and VH1. In addition, several add-ons like Paramount+ with Showtime will also be unavailable.
YouTube TV initially added Paramount’s channels in 2020, with a subscription cost of $50 per month. Currently, the service costs $70 for the first six months, rising to $83 thereafter.
If YouTube fails to secure a deal with Paramount, subscribers may receive an $8 credit if the channels remain unavailable for an extended period. YouTube is suggesting that viewers who wish to maintain access to Paramount’s content consider subscribing to the Paramount+ streaming service, which starts at $8 monthly.
